Oedipus Rex Gallery boasts a triple bill of emerging contemporary artists in the up-coming show Pick’n’Mix opening 13 March.  Mark Curtis, Zena Elliot and Kirsten Lyttle present thought-provoking works that challenge the viewer’s preconceptions about race and identity.
With aggressive images of race identity and cultural consumerism by Kirsten Lyttle, the camp glitter paintings by Mark Curtis and the funky hip-hop inspired works by Zena Elliot Pick’n’Mix brings together an intelligent and whimsical look at fragmented ethic and cultural identities in contemporary society.
Mark Curtis’ sexual pop culture images that examine layers of identity in beautiful glitter paintings complement the urban images by Zena Elliot.
